Once again we left Rio
to go to Niteroi. On Sunday the 26th we left early to
search for waves on the other side of the bridge.
This time we left really early!! We got to Niteroi
around 7am and drove thru the different beaches to
see where the waves were breaking better. Since it
was a really hot and sunny day we knew we would have
to deal with a crowded condition as the sun was
getting higher. We decided that Camboinhas had the
best waves and also had the possibility of a longer
session since it is not as popular as Itacoatiara
Beach, for exemplo.
On this session, besides Munir and Andre Magarao, our
friend Karlos from Mexico and the girl in red (yeah!
The one from the first Matrix) were also present.

On the weekend of
august 18th and 19th, we went to Sao Sebastiao hoping
to find some waves, since the conditions in Rio were
really bad. Because we ended up traveling to places
where there wasn’t much skimming during our winter
break Winter break in Brazil is in July) we were
dying for some nice waves.
After an almost 7 hours drive, we were, once again,
welcomed at the house of our great friend Piero at
Toque Toque Beach. Besides Piero, Du, Phill and
Rafael were also with us on this trip. Special thanks
to Rafael for getting some cool stuff on film for us!
Our first session was at Boiçucanga Beach which is
the first beach after Maresias Beach (considering
that we were going south). It’s a long beach where
the waves breaks frequently on the shore making
really good conditions for skimming with the plus of
not being so crowded by beach goers.
After our first session, which was a very good one by
the way, we went back to Maresias to get some food
and since it was quite early we decided to give Pauba
Beach a try. On this second session we did get some
pics. The conditions wasn’t so great but it was still
good fun.
